In alignment with global observance, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia commemorates World Food Day annually on October 16—an event declared by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations to raise awareness of hunger and food insecurity, and to encourage collective action to eliminate it. Each year, CACS actively contributes to this important event by co-organizing a regional festival that promotes awareness about the importance of local and global food security.
